I've done the straight through reading and a chronological reading, and both worked well. Now I'm enjoying reading more slowly in my NIV/Message parallel Bible. It's so interesting to see and compare the two versions. Makes me really think on it. Until commenting here, I hadn't realized that my Bible reading right now is matching my word for the year: slowly. Funny I hadn't made that connections. Enjoy plenty of tea while reading:)amyscandersonnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210656011646178637.post-49932111405225797232012-01-03T20:11:03.616-06:002012-01-03T20:11:03.616-06:00I did the One Year Bible last year and this year I...I did the One Year Bible last year and this year I am going to do the Chronological version. A friend shared with me that there are 261 chapters in the NT and 260 weekdays (M-F) in a year. So if a person reads one chapter M-F, she can make it through the NT in a year. This might be appealing to someone who's not quite ready for the OT.smoothstonesnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210656011646178637.post-87670767944763531532012-01-03T18:28:13.491-06:002012-01-03T18:28:13.491-06:00What a wonderful challenge, Kathy! I think having the support of other people will help you to reach your goal- plus you may get to discuss what you ar reading which will keep you engaged. I have never read the whole book straight through- so I am impressed with your goal. Wishing you the best of luck. I usually take over a year to read the Old Testament, and a little less to read through the New Testament. Last year I started reading 2 weeks in the OT, then 1 week in the NT. I am enjoying the diversity.

May the Lord bless you richly in His Word!Lisa noteshttp://lisanotes.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
