Stress Relief Idea #18

Say "No!." Saying "no" to extra projects, social activities, and invitations you know you don't have the time or energy for takes practice, self-respect, and a belief that everyone, everyday. needs quiet time to relax and be alone.

  1. Kind of weird that this was your stress-busting idea for yesterday because I was blogging on Jesus heading off on his own to pray - I'm blogging through Mark's gospel on Mondays. And at least one of your regular visitors - aka me - is from Scotland.

  2. It's hard work, learning the skill of saying, "No." I think it takes years of learning the hard way, that saying "yes" too many times isn't good for anybody.

BTW--unrelated, but thought of you last week. Was digging around in an antique/junk store which had all sorts of Auburn sportswear displayed on the walls. Probably could have gotten your Christmas shopping done for you--cheap!

  3. You know Nancy, I have to confess, I am not so good at the saying no thing. I would have probably spent my last dollar at the store that you mention. LOL!

  4. Great to hear from you. I have often wondered if Jesus received daily instructions from God in the way of a kind of "to do"list that caused him to walk away at times....
Thanks for letting me know about your being from Scotland. My stats are not picking up that location for some reason, so I am glad to hear from you.
    Blessings,
    Kathy
